Dear Workshop Participant,
You likely know that the writing workshops I provide are held in the Amherst Writers Method (AWA). This method is what I use to keep our workshops safe, creative, and productive.
May is the month when Amherst Writers reaches out to writers everywhere by holding Write Around the World (WAW). This is the yearly fundraiser for the social justice initiatives it supports.
I will be donating my time to lead WAW workshops on May 3, 18, & 20.
Write Around the World raises funds to support AWA and its writing for social justice programs. Its aim is also to introduce others to the method’s remarkable ability to assist writers to claim their authentic voices and write the stories that need to be written.
Suggested donations are $20, $15, or $10, with exceptions made to include those who are experiencing financial distress.
Dozens of facilitators from around the world are offering their time and skill so not only are there topics or themes, such as working through grief, trauma, loss, or illness, you can choose almost any day or time of day in May to attend a workshop. My workshops are wide open, as you may recall, so whatever you bring to the page is the exact right thing.
I invite you to forward this information about WAW to your friends, family, and fellow writers. Consider the relief and joy you may have felt when you found the safe space that an AWA Method workshop provides. This is an opportunity to offer that gift to others.
I hope to see you in one of my Write Around the World sessions.
Happy writing.
Deepam
