This wasn’t a review of Rooney’s novel as much as it is a craft observation. I’m not entirely sure how she pulls it off, but she does it brilliantly. And I doubt I’ll be trying it anytime soon, although it is tempting at times…

puzzle time

Today, I held a live stream draw for two of The Occurance’s puzzles featuring the covers of The Canadian Authors Association’s novels published in 2024.

These lovely folks are the puzzle winners. I ordered the puzzles as soon as they became available but the postal strike has held up their arrival. Once I have them, I’ll send the prizes to Stratford and Tel Aviv!

Liisa Kovala generously invited me to an interview on her Substack site, Women Writing. I got to pick which questions I’d like to answer, which was good since one of the invitations was to post a photograph of one’s workspace. Trust me, you don’t want to see that.
