Water, workshops, & writing

and a prompt
3

I know, I know, it’s only getting worse. That’s why we write. To clear our heads. To remember the good stuff. To find light in the dark. To address what presses us down and push back in our uniquely creative fashion.

And, in the face of…well, everything, many of us wonder if anything we once thought important or relevant still is, or ever was.

For me, it’s best simply to carry on, pay attention, and be kind.

Here are some links to events and sundry that are of great interest to me and possibly to you, too:

Upcoming generative writing workshops

Spectacular May Writing Retreat in Spain

Some shameless self-promotion – links to interviews and reviews

Write Around the World Opportunities

Casa Mismac in Costa Rica for writers who need peace, beauty, and to be warm and fed.

This wondrous song to go along with my water ramble above:

And your prompt.

The last word:

Be kind. On a local Facebook group page, I wrote a quiet plea for my neighbours to protect the land, their children, and their freedoms by considering not to vote conservative. I suppose I shouldn’t have been shocked by the response, but I was. Call me naive. It quickly became a personal attack. Luckily, the admin for the page took down my post and all the resulting commentary.

I still have hope, though. Possibly not for my geographical community, but as my mother often said, “Hope springs eternal.”
