I love this too! I needed to hear it today. It hits a perfect note in my heart for me and for all of us. Being takes courage and writing takes such a bigstep. To be ok with what comes. And what a bonus to have the support and nourishment of workshops such as yours Deepam. ❤️

*edit big step! More like a leap or dive or maybe bigstep can be a new word. Why not?

Lovely, Susan! I read this piece at the perfect time--just as I'm listening to podcasts and trying to figure out marketing strategies for the novel (as I suppose you are too, looking toward 2024!) and thinking I'm not up to this, I'll never be enough. So thank you.

Susan (Deepam),

What courageous, wise, true words, beautifully expressed! They are a great testament to the AWA method and the power it has to reflect to writers the "pearls" in their work that they might have not even been aware of. Thank you for sharing this!

Thank you for this lovely post. I was pointed to your piece by a mutual friend (Fran) who said she thought I’d like it. She was right! I too facilitate writing workshops and often have that moment of fear. And I’m always in awe of the work people produce on the spot to prompts. We are all okay and enough, I say!

What an awesome piece of writing. So many messages for me. Even though I’m trained to facilitate I don’t because of health. I’m so glad you are part of my writing training and life.

Susan, I love this! Thinking a lot this week about society trying to keep women small. I like how you write about the beauty of a writing class- that intimate, joyous space where people can share and be reminded they are indeed okay.
