I'm proud of you for taking the risk to plunge in and work with the POV. My first novel in verse took 11 years to see publication. It started out as middle-grade prose, then verse in seven voices for adults, then verse in three voices for middle grade, and finally middle-grade verse in one voice. My second novel in verse too 6 years to see publication. It started as YA prose in three voices, YA prose in one voice, and finally, YA verse in one voice. Sometimes the path is clear (when I used first person for my Golda Meir picture book) and sometimes it's not. Your takeaway is well earned and a good reminder for the rest of us.
What a gorgeous place to write! I'm glad you found a path forward. Onward!
Happy to hear you've made it to a safe landing with POV. It's a tough one.
